headshotThis March we were pleased to welcome Dr. Julie Schell to the Emerging Trends in Educational Technology series and Natural Sciences and Mathematics Faculty Development Workshop to discuss flipped classrooms. Dr. Schell is Director of OnRamps and Strategic Initiatives at The University of Texas at Austin’s (UT-Austin) Office of Strategy and Policy. In this interactive session, Dr. Schell flipped the workshop, using audience responses to discuss the why, what, and how of flipped classrooms by confronting and resolving a series of common myths about flipped teaching. Please find the recording of the video below as well as a link to Dr. Schell’s slideshow.

Funding for this Emerging Trends session was generously provided by the UH Office of the Provost and the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics through the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Undergraduate Science Education grant.
