How to Publish Your Exam from Respondus to Blackboard

When the exam questions are ready to be uploaded to Blackboard, you can use the Publish wizard to publish an exam to the Blackboard server.

Note:  After downloading the Respondus software from UH IT website, you need to update the software because it might NOT be the current version.

  1. In the “Preview + Publish” tab, click Publish. Then, click Publish Wizard.
  2. In the section 1, choose the exam published to a single course or multiple Blackboard courses.
  3. In the section 2, click the drop-down menu at Blackboard Server and choose add new server.
  4. In the “Add New Server Settings” window, select “Yes, check for preconfigured server settings” option.
  5. Select Next.
  6. In the “Choose Server” window, click the drop-down menu and select UH Blackboard Learn 9.1. Then, click OK.
  7. Enter the name of the course.
  8. Enter your login information for the Blackboard server.
    Note: If this is not a shared computer, you can select “Save my User Name and Password on this computer” option.
  9. Make sure the “Run connection test” is selected.
  10. Click Next.
  11. In the “Preconfigured Server Settings Wizard” window, if you can see “Connection Test: Completed Successfully,” click Next.
  12. Click Finish.
  13. The course you connected is shown at Blackboard Server, and click Next.

In the “Publish Wizard” window:

  1. Choose the course you want to publish.
  2. Enter Exam name. Then, select additional options for exam.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Select the content Area you want to place the exam.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Confirmation window appears, and click Finish.  You can see the exam is exported into Blackboard Content folder successfully.
