The University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work has established its first online social work clinic for teaching clinical skills in a virtual reality (VR) environment. With a free online program called Second Life, Dr. Monit Cheung guided a doctoral student in a teaching mentoring project to design the UH-GCSW’s VR Clinical Lab. Through the support from the University’s Teaching Innovation Program, this video presents the development of the lab and explains how MSW students can use avatars anonymously to present real-life clinical situations for practice purposes.
