How to Enable a Calculator with LockDown Browser

Respondus LockDown Browser prevents students from accessing any application or website during the exam.  If students need to use an online calculator during the assessment, the instructor can use the following steps to enable a calculator for the exam in the LockDown Browser dashboard.

 

  1. On the Course Navigation, click Lockdown Browser link.
  2. Find the exam which will use the Lockdown Browser and that you want to enable the calculator, click the action link (Chevron icon), and select Settings.
  3. In the “Lockdown Browser Settings” section, double-check that the radio button “Require Respondus Lockdown Browser for this exam” was selected.  Then, click + Advanced Settings.
  4. Select the checkbox for Enable Calculator on the toolbar.  Then, select Standard or Scientific Calculator.
  5. Click Save + Close.
  6. Once a calculator has been enabled for an exam, a calculator icon is on the LockDown Browser toolbar.  Students can select this icon to access the calculator.
