When a Canvas course is created, you can see a set of default tools (links) shown on the Course Navigation. How to Export Some Blackboard Course Content to Canvas
Instead of migrating the whole course to Canvas, you only want some Blackboard course content migrated, such as Tests/Pools, Discussion Board, Announcements, etc. You can use the “Export Course” tool to export course content. The course contents are saved in a Blackboard export .zip file. Then, you can import the .zip file to the Canvas course. Note: The Export Course does not include any scores or assignments from students. Part I: Export Blackboard Course Contents Login a Blackboard course. Preparing Your Course for Canvas Migration
In spring 2023, we had the Canvas soft launch with limited courses. However, in the summer of 2023, ALL summer courses will be in Canvas. Your courses will be migrated from Blackboard to Canvas by request. Most content transfers without issue, but migration is not perfect. There may be some formatting issues, or 3rd party integrations, e.g., Turnitin, which may break. Some tools, such as journals and rubrics, do not transfer. In Canvas, you can embed YouTube videos on a course page, discussion post, or assignment using the Rich Content Editor (RCE.) One option is to search and embed YouTube videos in RCE directly.
